Bet and Gimel Class - 2nd - 3rd Grade

HEBREW
•Using words children have learned by listening and repeating, students begin to connect these familiar words to Hebrew letters and vowels. This begins the process of fluent Hebrew reading.
HERITAGE
•Students focus on the land, symbols and heroes of Israel and increase their Hebrew vocabulary to include common Hebrew phrases.
•Students study those mitzvot which govern relationships between humans and the natural world.
LITURGY
•Since communal prayer is an important vehicle for community building, students join with Gan-Aleph and Bet classes for a service which is a celebration of music and spirituality, focused on the prayers of Friday night. Gimel students receive their siddurim in a Friday evening celebration at the end of the spring.
